The National Motor Museum Trust is a charitable organisation dedicated to preserving and promoting motoring history and has been supported directly by Shell for many years. The Trust also houses the Shell Heritage Art Collection which is one of the most important collections of commercial art in Britain. It spans the period from the 1900s to the 1980s and contains some of the most memorable advertising ever produced in Britain.

Despite restricted space the Museum and Shell were looking to create a special “Set” to recreate the look and feel of a 1950’s/60’s service station. This was achieved by the imaginative use of architectural and prop dressing to recreate the atmosphere desired for the limited space available.
